Rumination was founded in Tokyo in 2019 by Rumi Tominaga.

Her path runs through Los Angeles, New York and Memphis before Tokyo in 2012 — from a BFA in sculpture, to art direction on features, music videos and commercials, to producing. The work keeps returning to one thread: identity, outsiders, people finding a voice.

For a decade its founder has been the Japan partner for overseas productions. It is now developing Japanese-language features for international co-production.
